Join us Friday Night, April 5th at 7-8:30pm for an inspiring yoga and meditation class with VC artist Christina Burch in the Voltz Clarke Gallery space at 195 Chystie Street with the new exhibition Constellations on view by Karen Tompkins.

Christina will be offering this complementary yoga and mediation class by donation followed by a small reception with Q&A and discussion, so bring your yoga mat and enjoy the gallery while you relax, refresh and unwind and drink in the beauty within and without! In addition to her background in art, acupuncture and healing arts, Christina is a yoga and meditation instructor who has trained extensively in retreat practice in mountain hermitages over the last decade. Her approach to yoga and meditation is informed by traditional hatha yoga, the meridians of acupuncture, tibetan yogas, tantric buddhism, taoism and qigong.

Christina was commissioned to create a series of mandalas from the Nyingma Lineage of Buddhism. A mandala is a pure dimension and blueprint or map to enlightment. The late psychologist Carl Jung used mandalas extensively both in his own work and the treatment of his patients with depth psychology to bring them into a state of psychological wholeness. Mandalas have been universally used in spiritual traditions to facilitate spiritual developement and realization.

Voltz Clarke Gallery is pleased to present IN HER WORLD; A GROUP SHOW celebrating a female-focused perspective on contemporary painting.

Christina was commissioned to renovate and repaint this Dharmakaya Stupa in Ann Arbor, MI. The stupa is a Bhutanese style Dudjuom Tersar style stupa requested by the late Thinley Norbu Rinpoche. A Stupa is a reliquary and symbol of the Dharmakaya enlightened mind of the Buddhas. It is said that seeing such a stupa connects one with the powerful energy of enlightenment. The different colors represent the pure elements of space, air, fire, water and earth.
